Routing with streams

Send each visitor to the page that converts best for them: stream types and order, filters, weighted rotation, caps and schedules.

Streams decide where each click goes. A stream has conditions (filters) and a destination: landing pages, offers, or an action. When a click arrives, the tracker goes through the campaign's streams in order and uses the first one that accepts the visitor.

Stream types and order

  • Catch streams are checked first. Use them for traffic that must never reach your offer: wrong GEO, unwanted devices, suspect clicks.
  • Normal streams carry the main traffic, split by segment.
  • Default streams are checked last and catch everyone the others did not.
A Catch stream without filters takes all traffic, and nothing reaches the Normal streams. Always give a Catch stream at least one condition.

Filters

Filter by what you know about the click: country and city, device type, OS, browser, language, connection type and carrier, IP lists, schedule, traffic quality, and any parameter from the tracking link. Conditions can be combined, and each can match or exclude.

Rotation and split tests

Attach several landing pages or offers to one stream and give each a weight. Traffic is split by weight, so you can test a new page on 20% of visitors while 80% go to the proven one. Turn on split testing to compare whole streams against each other.

  • Compare variants by EPC or ROI, not by clicks.
  • Wait for enough conversions per variant before you decide.

Caps and schedules

  • Daily caps: when an offer reaches its daily limit, traffic moves to a fallback offer instead of being wasted.
  • Schedules: run a stream only on certain days and hours, in the time zone you choose.

Stream actions

Besides sending a visitor to a page, a stream can return a "not found" response, return an empty response, or show a neutral page. These are useful for traffic you want to count but not monetise.

An example setup

  1. Catch: country is not in your target list → neutral page.
  2. Normal: country DE, mobile → landing page A (50%) and B (50%) → offer 1.
  3. Normal: country DE, desktop → offer 2.
  4. Default: no filters → offer 1.
